What is Front End Speech Recognition (FESR)?

Front End Speech Recognition (FESR) is the technology whereby speech is translated into text in real time.

CST Cerner and Meditech Expanse use Fluency Direct to create reports directly into the EMR. The remaining sites that still need to be updated with Cerner or Expanse will continue to use Fluency Flex in their respective EMRs (e.g., PCIS, Meditech Client Server, etc.)

Fluency Direct:  Fluency Direct is the software that converts audio to text.

Fluency Flex: Fluency Flex is software that integrates with the EMR, where patient documents are transcribed and distributed.
