What is Front End Speech Recognition (FESR)?

Front End Speech Recognition (FESR) is the technology whereby speech is translated into text in real time.

CST Cerner uses Fluency Direct to transcribe reports into Cerner Provider Documentation. Meditech Expanse will be using Fluency Direct to transcribe into Fluency Flex. All other sites in the Lower Mainland that are using FESR, use Fluency Direct with Fluency Flex.

Fluency Direct:  Fluency Direct is the software that does the conversion from audio to text.

Fluency Flex: Fluency Flex is the software in which reports get transcribed and distributed. The speech to text conversion happens in Direct and then Direct inputs the text into Fluency Flex.
